Spaghetti frutti di mare with Paprika

400g of spaghetti

1kg of fresh mussels

16 shrimps or prawns

300g of cherry tomatoes or pear tomatoes

4 small garlic cloves

Flakes of Sweet Smoked Paprika "La Chinata"

Chopped parsley

A stream of white wine


Extra virgin olive oil


To start, it is important to have ingredients of good quality, specially the mussels, they must be fresh.

First of all we wash well the mussels under the water tap, removing the little hairs they have and all the stain from the shell. We reserve.

Then we peel all the raw shrimps or raw prawns.


Next we wash well the cherry tomatoes and cut them by half, if they are pear tomatoes, we cut them into four pieces. We also peel the garlic cloves and we crush them slightly with the knife blade, but keeping them whole to remove them later.

In a pot we add a stream of olive oil and fry at low heat the garlic until brown, then we add the shrimps or prawns and fry for some minutes. We discard the garlic and place the shrimps or prawns in a plate.

In the same pot we add more olive oil and fry well at low heat the tomatoes, then we add the Flakes of Sweet Smoked Paprika "La Chinata", the mussels, the chopped parsley and the white wine.

We cover the pot and let them cook for some minutes at medium heat, until the mussels open, then we remove from the heat and add the shrimps or prawns that we had. We reserve.

In a tall pot with water and salt, we boil the spaghetti for about 7 minutes, we strain them and we keep three or four tablespoons of the boiling water.

We place again the mussels' pot in the heat and we mix it with the spaghetti, if necessary, we can also add some of the boiling water that we had. We mix it quickly, remove it from the heat and serve immediately. We can also add some black pepper at taste.

We distribute four dishes and we sprinkle some more Flakes of Sweet Smoked Paprika "La Chinata".
