Spicy Vegan Chorizo / Chorizo Picante para veganos

Nadine & Jörg are two vegan foodbloggers (www.eat-this.org) from Germany. They present their latest favourite recipe with "La Chinata” and their recipe for the contest is a “Spicy Vegan Chorizo”.

Recipe details:


Ingredients for 8 sausages

  • 300 g vital wheat gluten
  • 2 tbs nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbs corn starch
  • 2 tbs La Chinata „hot“
  • 1 tbs La Chinata „sweet"
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbs chickpea flour
  • 2 tsp ground fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tbs tomato puree
  • 3 tbs soy sauce
  • 500 ml water



1. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.


2. Add the tomato puree, soy sauce and the water. Mix well.


3. Form the mixture into eight sausages and wrap them in cling foil. Seal the ends with knots.


4. Put the Chorizos into a steamer and let them steam for about 30 minutes.


5. Let them cool completely.
